Today’s recording is the final part of a three week session on Irish radical and working class history that was held in the Spark in Phibsboro in April 2025.
Its main theme today is to delve into the “social question” and what that meant in terms of Irish nationalism and republicanism in the 19th century.
I bring up writers such as Agnes Henry, Anna Doyle Wheeler, Bronterre O’Brien, William Sharman Crawford, and Eleanor Marx.
I’m hoping to do more of these classes. It’d be good to have an actual course in Irish radical history up and running in Dublin at least.
Sure, see what happens. Hopefully we can get something together for the autumn.
